The Directorate General of Ports and Customs of Syria announced that this country and Russia have agreed on the transfer of commercial sections of the Tartus port to Syria.
According to the Russian news agency TASS, the memorandum states that following negotiations between Damascus and Moscow, it was agreed that the commercial sections that previously were under Russian control at the Tartus port, including pier number four, warehouses, and the surrounding structures, will be transferred to the Syrian side.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously announced that Damascus and Moscow have signed a memorandum under which Russian military bases in Syria will be reorganized as joint training centers for forces.
