🔸The decline in the value of Iran’s national currency continued on Saturday, 11 Mehr, and the price of the US dollar in the free market crossed the 270,000 toman mark for the first time.
🔸According to rates announced on Saturday noon, the selling price of the dollar rose to about 271,000 toman and the euro to more than 305,000 toman.
🔸This comes as the price of the dollar in the free market was reported at around 258,000 toman on Thursday; as a result, the dollar price increased by more than 13,000 toman over two days, equivalent to about 5%.
🔸The increase in the prices of foreign currencies continues while the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic had announced on Wednesday that it was planning to supply two billion dollars in banknotes to the market.
🔸The judiciary branch has also said it will take action against channels and pages that call them an alleged driver of “false currency pricing.”
Iran’s economy is also under pressure at the same time from a war with the United States, sanctions, and growing restrictions on foreign trade caused by the maritime blockade.
