The Arab League asked the international community, and especially the United States, to intervene so that “the Israeli war machine is immediately stopped and the country is made to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.”

In a statement, the league strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks on southern Lebanon, which left 11 people dead on Saturday, and warned that this escalation could derail efforts to end the conflict and reach a solution.

Based on the statement, Israel’s policies and actions “clearly indicate the occupiers’ intention to prolong the conflict, obstruct negotiations, and impose a new reality on the ground; something that is completely unacceptable and rejected.”
