Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with Iran’s security institutions, in response to the postponement of a meeting of foreign ministers of the coastal states of the Persian Gulf in Oman, citing an informed source, claimed that Saudi Arabia has prevented the holding of the meeting with “pretexts,” and that Bahrain is under the influence of the United States and Israel.
The news agency also reported allegations about the negative role of the United Arab Emirates behind the scenes, but it wrote that Abu Dhabi has not openly opposed holding the meeting. Tasnim did not provide evidence for these claims.
Oman said the reason for postponing the meeting was an effort to reach consensus, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic has also said that this decision was taken at the request of some regional countries and with agreement between Tehran and Muscat.
