🔶 Tajzadeh: End executions; executions increase the cycle of violence

Mostafa Tajzadeh, a political activist critical of the government, in a letter dated 12 Mordad written from Evin Prison, referred to Iran’s fateful situation and said that despite the devastating damage, Iran has shown resilience and has prevented the realization of the objectives of the United States and Israel.

He writes: “But the following is also true: in addition to the countless hardships of war, Iranians are suffering from the most severe international economic sanctions; on the one hand, soaring prices, unemployment, stagnation, and unbearable inflation, and on the other, rampant corruption, class and political divisions, discrimination, and injustice.”

Tajzadeh, referring to the 12-day war and the protests of Dey, writes that unfortunately the government has not used this opportunity and continues to pursue the policy ‘al-nasr bil-ru‘b’ or ‘the iron fist policy’. He asked the government to give up revenge-seeking and the execution of young people.

In this regard, he writes: “The ruling system must not forget that the people are still mourning the blood that was unjustly spilled last Dey.”
