🔻Syrian state news agency wrote that Ahmed al-Sharaa, President of Syria, in a decree appointed Mazi om Abdel, commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as his advisor.

Mr. Abdel had previously said that, under an agreement between the SDF and the Syrian central government, the Democratic Forces would be dissolved as a military force and integrated into Syria’s military and security structure.

The agreement had been reached with US mediation, after the new Syrian government and Turkey threatened to carry out a military action against Kurdish armed groups in Syria.

Mr. Abdel had expressed hope that Syria would move from the “phase of war and weapons” to the “phase of peace and reconstruction.”

He added that the decision to dissolve the SDF was taken after the agreement with Ahmed al-Sharaa and once the process of integrating the forces of this group into the form of brigades of the Syrian army had been completed.
