By issuing a decree, Syrian President Ahmad al-Shar appointed Mustafa Khalil Abdi—whose real name is Mujlum Abdi, the former commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)—as a presidential adviser.

This appointment confirms the official transfer of him from the post of military commander to a political role within the Syrian government, as part of an integration agreement.
