🔻The Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences announced that the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to Henri Kagan and Konzo Saway, French and Japanese scientists.

The Nobel Committee said it awarded the prize to these two scientists because they provided an explanation for the riddle of the non-symmetrical molecules on which life depends.

According to the Nobel Committee’s announcement, “all molecules that living organisms use, such as amino acids, which are the raw material for proteins, have a characteristic called chirality.”

“This situation means that these molecules exist in two forms that are mirror images of each other.”
