Some students at various universities in Iran say that in recent months they have faced a range of disciplinary actions and university restrictions, including expulsion, suspension, denial of admission, being barred from education, and the cancellation of dormitory housing.

Zeinab, an incoming student from 1402, says that after images of several students were published from a gathering inside the university, she received a dormitory housing cancellation order less than 15 days later; an order she says was issued without her presence at the disciplinary committee. After her protest yielded no result, due to the high cost of renting, she—along with a few other fellow students—rented a very small room.

Alireza, a master’s student at one of the universities in Tehran Province, says that after his image was posted on one of the channels, his family was also threatened. He says that after filing a complaint against the administrators of the channel, instead of receiving a response from the judicial authorities, he was summoned to the disciplinary committee three days later and received a suspension order for two terms.
