Najat Bahrami, a political analyst, said that it appears Saudi Arabia and Mohammed bin Salman played an important role in changing Trump’s mind about carrying out a broader attack on the Islamic Republic.
He added that with the Houthis’ attacks being activated and the threat to oil export routes, Riyadh is worried about the war spreading to its energy infrastructure.
Bahrami said Saudi Arabia fears that if the conflict expands, it will be the biggest loser, while Trump may exit the crisis under the influence of political or domestic developments, leaving his allies facing the Islamic Republic.
