Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry on the Makkah Defense Union:

A secretariat chaired by a Secretary-General will be established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the activities of three countries within the framework of the Makkah Agreement.

The secretariat will initially be led for a three-year term by a Secretary-General from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The three countries will seek, through joint activities, to strengthen the capabilities of their defense and the cohesion of their armed forces through strong cooperation in the field of defense industries and the development of joint production and technologies.
