🔻Russia says Ukraine’s attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea “should be treated as an attack on Iran itself.”
Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, warned that the attack shows how important it is to eliminate the “threat stemming from Kyiv.”
Iran says that in the attack, an Iranian sailor was killed and another was injured, and it has warned that it will not leave the attack unanswered.
Ukraine announced the attack on Saturday and said it targeted two Russian vessels that had played a role in transporting military cargoes linked to Iran in the Caspian Sea.
Today, Dmitry Peskov accused Ukraine of expanding the geographic scope of what it calls “terrorist attacks.”
He also accused Ukraine of blowing up Nord Stream gas pipelines in Germany and of harming Kazakhstan’s interests by targeting the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
Ukraine denies such an attack.
