Russia’s crackdown over the publication of images that reveal war casualties

🔸A blurred photo shows a man apparently forced by two other men wearing civilian clothing to kneel in the snow.

🔸The image, published last week by Russia’s Federal Security Service, apparently shows the moment of the arrest of a 48-year-old man in “Yaroslavl,” about 250 kilometers northeast of Moscow, who was detained on suspicion of “taking and secretly filming” the graves of soldiers killed in the war in Ukraine.

🔸This case is the latest in a series of cases in which people have faced charges of treason for recording images from Russian military graves.
