Rheinmetall has kicked off production of the RCH 155 artillery systems for the British Army.

Following the receipt of a contract worth several hundred million euros, Rheinmetall will begin producing 155 mm L/52 guns for use in the 72 RCH 155 self-propelled artillery units of the British Army at its newly established plant in the city of Telford. Under the British Army’s artillery modernization program, these systems will replace the AS90 self-propelled guns.

In addition to increasing firepower and modernizing the artillery units of the British Army, implementing this contract will also help strengthen the country’s defense industry and, by creating hundreds of jobs, will play an important role in the region’s economic development.
