Reza Emiri-Moqaddam, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, said in a post on the social network X that there are no restrictions on the export of Iranian goods to Pakistan, including liquefied petroleum gas, and that Iran’s borders with neighboring countries are open.
He attributed disruptions in the dispatch of Iranian shipments to changes in Pakistan’s import form issuance process and said that consultations to resolve the issue are ongoing. At present, several hundred trucks carrying liquefied petroleum gas that entered Pakistan’s Ghabd area via the Rیمدان border have still not been unloaded or cleared after several weeks.
Emiri-Moqaddam emphasized that border trade is important for the interests of both countries, and that Iran, in coordination with Pakistan, is working to address existing problems, facilitate the movement of goods, and strengthen economic cooperation.
He added: “Closing Pakistan’s borders with Iran is neither a logical step nor in the interest of either of the two sides.”
