Reuters: Senior European diplomats will try next week to assure Calley, the deputy defense secretary of the Pentagon, that they are strengthening their defenses, as uncertainty about the deployment of U.S. forces in Europe and Russia continues.

NATO member countries participating in this review have received a questionnaire that covers issues including defense strategy, equipment supply, and support for U.S. foreign policy priorities.

A European official is not sure whether this review will help lead to a final decision, and whether this is a real action or that the final decision has already been made.
