🔶 Reuters, citing an Iranian official: In exchange for lifting the blockade, Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 7 days

An Iranian senior official on Tuesday, September 22 (September 31), told Reuters that if military pressure from the United States is reduced and the blockade of Iranian ports is lifted, Tehran could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days.

The senior official said: “The United States must formally announce that it is willing to resolve the issue through diplomacy, and then agree on a timeline for how to advance this process.”

He added that Iran’s delegation to the United Nations General Assembly in New York is present there and has full authority to revive diplomacy with the United States.

The official also told Reuters that Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, who left Tehran for New York on Tuesday morning, will not meet with Donald Trump, the president of the United States, at the United Nations headquarters.
