I congratulate the Syrian people on the official removal of Syria’s name from the “state sponsors of terrorism” list, and I would like to thank His Excellency President Donald Trump for this historic decision, as well as all dear brothers and friends who stood alongside Syria and its people.

The United States removed Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism on Monday, September 2; an action that, according to Damascus, removes the last major obstacle to investment in this country, and is taking place at a time when Washington is expanding its ties with the new Syrian government.
