🔶 Reform Front calls for review of the prosecution of critics of death sentences

The Reform Front of Iran, in a letter addressed to Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje’i, head of the Judiciary, said it considers the Tehran prosecutor’s office’s indictment against critics of death sentences in cases related to the events of Dey to be worthy of reconsideration.

In the letter, the Reform Front emphasized that legal and civic criticism of judicial rulings should not be treated as equivalent to action against the country’s security.

The letter states that limiting such criticisms with security-oriented approaches is not compatible with the spirit of the Constitution.

This position was raised after the Tehran prosecutor’s office said it would take legal action against some individuals and figures who have supported those convicted and executed.

By referring to the issuance and implementation of certain death sentences in cases related to the events of Dey, the Reform Front expressed concern about the consequences of this process.
