The Qeshm police chief has said that a smuggling pipeline on the coasts of this island in Iran—measuring 500 meters and reportedly drawn from the shore into the sea—has been identified and “destroyed.”

On Sunday, Brigadier Ali Nasertsi told Iran’s state news agency IRNA that: “Following intelligence surveillance and the continuous monitoring of the coastal strip by officers of the Law Enforcement Station of Laff, information about the operation of a route for transferring smuggled fuel from the shore to the sea in one of the rural areas of Qeshm County was obtained.”

The Qeshm police chief said this unauthorized pipeline was completely dismantled; however, he did not mention the person or smuggling network that was stealing fuel through this unauthorized pipeline, and it is unclear whether anyone has been identified or arrested in this regard.
