Qatar’s prime minister, in a phone call with Syria’s foreign minister, once again emphasized the need for freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a call between Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, prime minister and foreign minister of Qatar, and Asaad Al-Sheibani, Syria’s foreign minister, the relations and cooperation between the two countries and the latest regional developments—particularly diplomatic efforts made to reduce tensions and strengthen security and stability in the region—were discussed and exchanged.
During the call, Qatar’s prime minister also stressed the need for all parties to adhere to dialogue and diplomacy, as well as to implement the agreements reached within the framework of the understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic.
Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani also, by referring to the need for freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz with the aim of maintaining regional security, emphasized Qatar’s full support for all efforts to ease tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement that would bring about lasting peace in the region.
