Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks in Tehran on Thursday, the sixth of Shahrivar, with Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, regarding the latest developments in the region and ways to reduce tensions.

The two sides discussed a proposed phased plan for the Strait of Hormuz during the meeting. The plan includes establishing a temporary and shared route for ships to transit through the Strait of Hormuz and reaching an agreement on implementing a joint project to clear mines from the strait.

Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that the sovereignty of neighboring countries and the freedom of navigation must be respected, and that diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and resolve disputes through dialogue should continue.
