🔸Prince Reza Pahlavi, while criticizing the Islamic Republic’s efforts to raise gasoline prices, said it is a sign of “incompetence and structural disorder in Iran’s energy market under the regime’s rule,” and that forcing a fuel price increase on people is “an inexcusable mistake and a major betrayal.”

🔸In a statement he published on Saturday, 31 Mordad, he said it is not possible to compare fuel prices in Iran with those of other countries because, according to him, Iranians’ income is in rials and a large part of society is under pressure from poverty.

🔸Pahlavi also accused the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of involvement in the daily smuggling of “tens of millions of liters” of fuel, and said the Iranian auto industry is also responsible for imposing “low-quality and fuel-inefficient” cars on the people.

🔸He called the Iranian government responsible for the current problems in the energy sector and again called for the overthrow of this government and the establishment of a “national and capable” administration.

🔸Pahlavi further said that the “Iran Flourishing Project” he and his colleagues have put forward includes plans to create balance between fuel production and consumption in the transition period after the Islamic Republic, which “will be implemented after the fall of this regime, during the transition.”
