The president, at a press conference, said: For me, as an Iranian who lives in this country, it is not acceptable that after 48 years of the situation of the country in terms of the economy, industry, agriculture, education, and culture being like this, instead of resolving the issues, we are only changing individuals.

Our resignation is not an issue. I have not clung to power, and it is not the case that because I became president, I have changed. I am the same person who was once a representative, and I will be the same person who will be if tomorrow I am nobody.

The only difference is that now the heavy burden of the country’s problems rests on us, and that is why we say: anyone can help—come out to the field; not talk from the sidelines that it’s limping.
