🔶 Pezeshkian criticizes the US attack on “infrastructure” and pressure on people

Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, on the evening of Saturday, September 12 (21 Shahrivar), posted on the X network (formerly Twitter) a message criticizing an attack on “non-civilian infrastructure” and the pressure stemming from this situation on people’s lives. He wrote: “If Americans are willing for war, then they should face our brave military forces. Why are they fighting non-civilian infrastructure, food, and the livelihood of the people? If they are human, why do they deprive people of water, food, and medicine?”

He also stated in his message: “Our people will not be forced to surrender through coercion and pressure. Iran will not surrender.”

On Saturday, on the sidelines of a meeting of the BRICS countries in New Delhi, the capital of India, and during a meeting with Anwar Ibrahim, the prime minister of Malaysia, Pezeshkian had said that the Middle East does not need the United States as a “regional gendarme.” He said, while noting that Iran is not seeking to continue the war and that peace remains a priority, that Tehran wants the lifting of sanctions.
