Pete Hegseth, U.S. defense minister, rejected a CNN report saying that the country’s army has used nearly 80% of its TAD interceptor missile stockpiles during its war with the Islamic Republic.

He wrote while reposting the headline of the report on the X social network: “That headline is not true. CNN, shame on you.”

In another message, Hegseth added: “We’re not as upset about fake news outlets as you think.” In these messages, he did not provide details about the rate of consumption of TAD missiles or the figures cited by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Early Tuesday, 13 Mordad according to Iran’s time, CNN reported, citing several sources, that since the start of the war with the Islamic Republic, the U.S. army has used nearly four-fifths of its TAD interceptor missile stockpiles and about half of its Patriot interceptor missiles.

As CNN wrote, senior U.S. military commanders have warned that the Pentagon’s munitions stockpiles have been reduced to a “dangerous” level.
