Pakistan’s prime minister expressed deep gratitude for U.S. President Donald Trump’s “kind and supportive remarks” following the signing of the joint defense agreement of Mecca.
In a social media post on X, Shehbaz Sharif wrote: “Pakistan, alongside the Kingdom of our brother and friend, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Republic of Türkiye, will continue to play a constructive role in providing defense for its countries as well as for the entire region.”
Earlier, Donald Trump, the U.S. president, welcomed the signing of the “joint Mecca defense agreement” and said it was an important step in cooperation among the countries of the region for their own defense.
Sharif also added: “I would like to once again commend President Trump for his brave and resolute leadership, which helped prevent a nuclear catastrophe in South Asia and save the lives of millions of people.”
He added: “Sustainable peace is the most essential prerequisite for a bright and prosperous future for our nations.”
