Pakistan’s Ministry of Information announced that 28 “terrorists” and a suicide bomber were killed in aerial attacks on three targets on Afghan soil.

According to Reuters, the statement was released on Monday after a report by Tolo News, which cited a local official as saying that at least three people were killed in a Pakistani airstrike in Kunar province.

The attacks took place a few days after a suicide bombing and shooting at the police headquarters in Kohat in northwest Pakistan. A senior police official had told Agence France-Presse that the attack left at least 31 dead.

Zabiullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, had previously warned that if Pakistan violates the sanctity of Afghan soil, the Taliban would give a “resounding response.”
