One day after the devastating floods in Nepal, search operations using helicopters continue. So far, at least 350 people have been killed and more than 900 are missing. A survivor said the flood arrived without any warning and “exploded like a bomb.”
Experts believe that the cause of the flood may have been the detachment of part of a glacier and the occurrence of a massive avalanche of ice and rocks. The incident has changed the course of rivers for more than 100 kilometers downstream, near the border with India.
