Oman’s air force evacuated 10 crew members from a Panama-flagged oil tanker after an attack in the Strait of Hormuz. Based on a statement by the Oman Ministry of Defence on the X social network, the tanker “An Peace” was targeted on Tuesday at about 17 kilometers off the coast of this country, and a fire broke out on the vessel.
The statement said the crew were transferred to a hospital in the Musandam Governorate and received medical treatment.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced on Tuesday that 12 crew members of the vessel were injured, 11 of whom are Indian citizens. Of the tanker’s 19 crew members, 17 are Indian.
The attacker has not been identified and no group has claimed responsibility.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations organization has reported at least one attack each day in the Strait of Hormuz or the Gulf of Aden since 10 Mehr.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is responsible for attacks on vessels passing through the Persian Gulf, and these attacks were the main reason for the collapse of the 60-day agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic.
