Noavid Mohammadzadeh, an Iranian actor and director, said: “Because of the existence of censorship, I have no desire to have my film released publicly in Iran, and I prefer to consider it a personal work.” In response to a question by Iran International’s reporter about the depiction of emotional relationships and the lifestyle of Iranian youth outside the official framework of the Islamic Republic, he said that he intended to portray the reality of young people and Generation Z; a generation that has its own lifestyle and choices. Mohammadzadeh added: “In the past about four years, Iranian women have effectively regained the right to choose what they wear, and this social reality cannot be denied.” With his first experience as a director, the film “I’m Not Really a Special Person” is taking part in the 39th Tokyo International Film Festival.
