Nikki Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, called for the continuation of the “maximum pressure” policy against the Islamic Republic in a message she posted on the social media platform X.

By referring to the resumption of the oil flow and the sharp decline in the value of the rial, Haley wrote that, in her view, “the only way to end this war is to continue maximum pressure.”

She also stated that if the Islamic Republic fails, Iran will no longer be a threat to Israel and U.S. allies in the Persian Gulf countries, and that China and Russia would also be harmed by such a development.

Haley served, during the first term of Donald Trump’s presidency, as U.S. ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations in 2017 and 2018.
