New U.S. Energy Information Administration data shows global oil production is returning to pre–Middle East war levels despite a sharp drop in Iran’s oil output.
Based on this report, global daily oil and petroleum liquids production during the third quarter of this year (equivalent to summer) increased by 4.76 million barrels compared to this spring, reaching above 101 million barrels—only 2.41 million barrels less than the months before the Middle East war.
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration report, Iran’s daily production of oil and petroleum liquids has fallen by 1.6 million barrels since the start of the war; in other words, a large part of the global decline in oil production is attributable to Iran’s own drop in oil and petroleum liquids output.
The report adds that global daily oil production during the fourth quarter of this year (fall) is expected to reach nearly 103 million barrels, which is only 690 thousand barrels less than the months before the Middle East war.
