Nazanin Boniadi, an actress and human rights activist, who reposted an Iran International report about an assassination attempt on Foad Pashaei, secretary-general of the Iran’s Freedom Party (Liberal Democrat), wrote on the social media platform X: “I was really shocked and saddened to hear this news.”

Boniadi added: “Mr. Pashaei is a kind and honorable man who deeply loves Iran. I pray for his full and swift recovery and I am thinking of his loved ones in these difficult circumstances.”

She also expressed hope that “the officials behind this act will be identified and handed over to justice.”
