🔶 Na’im Qasem, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Calls for the Cancellation of the Israel–Lebanon Agreement

Na’im Qasem, Hezbollah’s secretary-general in Lebanon, once again rejected the “framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon” and said that the group—supported by Iran—was not ready to “submit” nearly six months after the start of the war with Israel.

In a televised speech on Al-Manar, Hezbollah’s secretary-general said the group does not accept the Lebanon–Israel agreement and has called for its cancellation. He described the agreement as “illegal, humiliating, and destructive to Lebanon’s sovereignty” and rejected its implementation in “test areas” and any proposed monitoring mechanism.

After the start of the war, Israel and Lebanon held direct negotiations with American mediation on March 2 of this year.

Lebanese officials say that Israeli attacks and the country’s ground invasion to date have left more than 4,300 people dead.
