🔻More details about U.S. Treasury Secretary’s remarks regarding sanctions on Iranian airlines have been released.

Scott Bessent told CNBC: “On September 23 (in two days), all Iranian airlines worldwide will shut down.”

He warned that from two days from now, Iranian airlines worldwide will face serious problems for any kind of activity due to U.S. sanctions pressure. The U.S. Treasury minister made these remarks one day after meeting with the deputy prime minister of China.

According to Agence France-Presse, the meeting set the stage for a meeting between U.S. and Chinese leaders on Thursday. China is one of Iran’s most important economic partners and diplomatic backers.

Mr. Bessent explained that if Iranian planes land at an airport, “you can’t give them fuel, you can’t provide airport services, you can’t sell their tickets; otherwise, you will be removed from the dollar system.”
