Mohammad Oliaiifard, a lawyer and a member of the One Word Bar Network, referring to the report by the Iran Human Rights Campaign about the intensification of internal crackdowns and the acceleration of judicial handling of political cases since the start of the war, said that the logic governing these crackdowns is “the logic of survival,” not governance.
He said the Islamic Republic uses wartime conditions and the issue of preserving national security to intensify crackdowns, and that these actions are not a sign of power, but stem from the government’s fear of future protests.
