Miad Maleki, the former head of the Treasury Department’s sanctions targeting office, said that with the implementation of secondary sanctions, airline companies and airport service providers, if they cooperate with Iranian companies, jeopardize their access to the dollar-based financial system. He added that for this reason many foreign companies will stop cooperating with Iran.

Maleki also said that the Islamic Republic continues to try to circumvent sanctions, but the U.S. Treasury Department, by targeting support networks in countries such as Turkey, Armenia and the UAE, has restricted the path for circumventing sanctions more than ever before.
