Meythaq Zaree, an actor in the Iranian film “A Little Light,” said at the Venice Film Festival on Friday, 20 Shahrivar, that in the face of government repression in Iran, many people cannot do anything, and this inability creates even more despair, ultimately leading to numbness.

He added that under such circumstances, cinema for those active in this field is not merely art, but has turned into a tool for standing up against censorship.

Directed by Ali Asgari, the film “A Little Light” tells the story of a doctor who, after being detained and deprived of practicing medicine, decides to end his life, but on the last day he spends to visit his family members, he finds reasons to continue living.
