🔸Mehr News Agency and «Sepah News» on Sunday, citing «military officials,» denied statements by Donald Trump, the President of the United States, about Iran’s request that Washington refrain from fresh attacks.

🔸The sources described the U.S. president’s remarks in this regard as a «new lie» and an attempt to «extort the rulers of the Persian Gulf and put pressure on them with a threat,» adding that «our forces are at the highest level of readiness and have been prepared for any eventuality.»

🔸Donald Trump said in the early hours of Sunday that Iran and several Middle Eastern countries had asked him to stop fresh attacks, and that he agreed to the request on the condition of reaching an agreement quickly, including the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and ending what he called the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program.

🔸At the same time, the Fars News Agency also reported, citing a source close to the Iranian negotiators, that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed as long as «America’s hostile actions» continue.
