🔸Media say a loud explosion was heard at Riyadh airport, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, 18 Mehr, and that passengers were evacuated from the airport.

🔸Reuters wrote that the Saudi government’s media office and the country’s Civil Aviation Authority did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

🔸Meanwhile, three witnesses told Agence France-Presse that on Saturday passengers were evacuated from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

🔸One witness said that while waiting to board the aircraft they heard an explosion, but the other two witnesses were unable to confirm what incident caused the evacuation of the airport.

🔸King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh earlier, via a notice, asked passengers to contact their respective airline before heading to the airport and to confirm the status of their flight.

🔸In a statement posted on the airport’s official account on the social media platform X, it said: “Please contact your airline directly before heading to the airport and make sure of your flight status.”
