Manchester police ended a two-day operation and arrested a wanted man who had been sleeping on a rooftop.

Manchester police said that emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene of an incident at a residential property in Salford and remained on site for about 48 hours.

According to the police, the agency had been tasked with arresting a 37-year-old man at the request of another police force, because due to previous legal matters he was wanted and was subject to return to prison.

The suspect is now in custody on charges of causing public nuisance, criminal damage to property, offenses related to public order, burglary of a building, and assaulting two police officers.
