🔶 Macron calls for a G7 meeting to address rising energy prices

In the wake of rising energy prices, the French president said he would hold a G7 summit, including seven of the world’s largest industrialized countries, to find a shared response among major economic and democratic powers.

Emmanuel Macron said in Paris that the purpose of holding the summit is to examine this issue and coordinate among member countries in this regard.

The French president, considering protests over higher costs of living and energy prices in recent weeks in France, emphasized the need for solidarity and unity.

Emmanuel Macron noted that the increase in fuel prices is not the result of government decisions, but stems from geopolitical conditions and developments.

Meanwhile, today, Friday, September 18, a meeting was held at the Élysée Palace with representatives of political parties and presidential election candidates to discuss the energy crisis.

Macron had previously announced that he wants to share with parties and candidates all available information about the state of energy before the election, which will be held seven months from now.
