Lebanon strongly condemned the Houthi drone attack on an electricity distribution center in Medina; an attack that, according to Beirut, caused disruption to the operation of a transformer supplying electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque.

In a statement, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry described the targeting of civilian and vital infrastructure as a “dangerous escalation of tensions,” a violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and said it posed a threat to the sovereignty and security of Saudi Arabia and to regional stability.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry also firmly rejected any targeting of Saudi territory or infrastructure and announced full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting threats to its security and sovereignty.
