🔶Lebanon’s Prime Minister accuses Hezbollah of dragging the country into war

Nawaf Salam, Lebanon’s prime minister, criticized a group in a message on the social network X without naming Hezbollah or Naeem Qassem, its leader, saying that, according to him, it has pulled the country into pointless war adventures and given Israel an excuse to attack.

Salam wrote in his message that this group has drawn the country into “pointless adventures under the name of support” and, in doing so, provided Israel with a pretext to attack Lebanon.

He added that this process has led Israel to violate Lebanon’s sovereignty, destroy its cities and villages, kill Lebanese citizens, and displace hundreds of thousands of people.

The Lebanese prime minister also implicitly accused Hezbollah of “seizing” Lebanon’s sovereignty.

The remarks come as the debate over Hezbollah’s weapons, the group’s role in the war with Israel, and the authority of the Lebanese government in security decision-making has once again intensified.
