Lebanon’s president announced that one week after the last round of talks, with U.S. mediation, there has been no progress in a ceasefire, the Israeli army’s withdrawal, the determination of the border line, and the release of prisoners.

According to the Lebanese presidency, Joseph Aoun, during a meeting with Germany’s Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, called for an end to Israeli attacks and warned that these attacks weaken resilience.

Last week, a Lebanese military delegation presented its country’s demands at a trilateral meeting in Tampa, Florida.

Aoun emphasized that Lebanon resolves security concerns through “formal mechanisms and established coordination channels,” not military action, and asked Europe to increase its support for the Lebanese army.

Lebanese officials said that the continued Israeli attacks have made disarming Hezbollah more difficult, and that Israel has argued that the Lebanese army is unable to play the specific security role set out in the ceasefire agreement.
