Kingsley Wilson, the Pentagon spokesperson, on Friday rejected reports about the conditions aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and said that a small number of sailors associated with mental health services received care, no one died, and no meals were skipped during the carrier’s long mission.

Wilson wrote on the social media platform X: “Fake news media want you to ignore the facts about the USS Lincoln. A small number of cases related to mental health were treated, and no one died. When it was not possible to resupply fresh food, the meal plan was changed, without even a single meal being skipped.”

He added: “When the operational threat level was too high, contact with home was limited. Our sailors aboard the USS Lincoln are heroes, not victims! The low-level media attacks to present an incorrect picture of their historic mission are shameful.”
