🔺Katz: Before the attack on Abou Zhour Airport, we had warned the Syrian government

▪ Yisrael Katz, Israel’s defense minister, said the country’s army had raised, several times, the proposal to attack the military airport of Abou Zhour in the Syrian province of Idlib; because the information received indicated that Turkey intended to carry out actions at this base that would threaten Israel’s security.

▪ Katz said that after several meetings with Benjamin Netanyahu and security officials, it was decided that, before issuing an authorization for the attack, a direct warning would be given to officials of the Syrian government, and information related to the matter was also provided to American officials.

▪ According to Israel’s defense minister, after the warnings went unanswered, he and Netanyahu issued the authorization for the attack, and the operation was carried out successfully.
