Kاظم غریب‌آبادی, the Legal and International Affairs Deputy of the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, told IRNA that during the 40-day war, some Persian Gulf countries made their territory available to the United States so that it could be used to attack Iran. He added that in a few limited cases, direct attacks were also carried out from Persian Gulf countries against Iran.

Without naming the countries, Ghareebabadi said: “We documented all of these cases and submitted them to be recorded with the United Nations Security Council.”

In another part of the interview, he said that diplomacy does not stop during wartime, but the way the diplomatic apparatus operates and its language must change in accordance with the conditions of war. Ghareebabadi said that diplomatic positions in such circumstances should not be such that the other side perceives them as a sign of weakness.

Ghareebabadi also said that, from the government’s point of view, military activity and diplomacy in wartime conditions must be coordinated, and that this coordination in the current period is more than in previous periods.
