🔻The media center of the Judiciary announced that the Tehran prosecutor’s office has filed a case against the organizers and those involved in holding the “10-kilometer marathon race” in Tehran due to “failure to observe legal and religious guidelines.”

🔹The 10-kilometer Tehran race was held on Friday morning, 27 Shahrivar 1405, in the southwest of the capital, with thousands of women and men taking part. A notable point was the presence of women in the race without mandatory headscarves.

🔹The race was held simultaneously with the government-organized march “Resayesh Janfedayān.”

🔹This morning, Habib Setoudehnejad, the general director of sports and youth in Tehran province, had told Tasnim that legal and disciplinary action would be taken against athletes who are identified as “culpable.” According to him, before the start of the race, commitments to observe “Islamic propriety” were taken from participants.

🔹Also, Gholamreza Karimi, head of the Tehran Athletics Association, told Fars that this race “had all the necessary permits,” and said, “As the responsible body, before the event we obtained written commitments from all participants to observe hijab and uphold Islamic propriety, and headscarves were also provided.”
